Visa vs. visa-free travel: what to check before booking
Visa-free rarely means paperwork-free. Travel authorisations, onward tickets and day counts all apply.

Visa-free entry means you do not need to apply at a consulate in advance. It does not mean you arrive with no requirements.
Electronic travel authorisations
A growing number of visa-free destinations require an online authorisation before departure. These are approved in minutes to days, are tied to your passport number, and cost a small fee. Renewing your passport invalidates an existing authorisation.
Day counting
Many regions count days across a rolling window rather than per visit. Multiple short trips can add up to an overstay even when each individual trip looks compliant.
Proof of onward travel and funds
Airlines are fined for carrying passengers who are refused entry, so they check onward tickets and sometimes proof of accommodation or funds at the gate.
