From staying connected abroad to planning your trip, here's how Buy Before You Fly helps you get ready before departure.

Travel eSIMs

A travel eSIM is a digital SIM profile that installs on your phone over wifi — nothing is shipped and nothing gets swapped. Here is how buying an international travel eSIM works.

  1. 1Choose your destination — country, regional or global coverage.
  2. 2Select an eSIM plan with the data amount and duration that fit your trip.
  3. 3Purchase securely online with card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
  4. 4Receive your eSIM by email within seconds — QR code plus one-tap install links.
  5. 5Install it on a compatible, carrier-unlocked eSIM device while you're still on wifi.
  6. 6Activate on arrival by turning data roaming on for the eSIM profile and follow your plan instructions.

Plans are data-only: they do not include a local phone number, voice minutes or SMS. Keep your home SIM for calls and texts.

Most plans start counting when the eSIM first connects to a supported network at your destination. Unactivated plans expire 12 months after purchase.

Need more data mid-trip? Purchase another plan and install the new eSIM — top-ups on an existing eSIM are not available.
